Thunderstorms forecast for evening followed by sunny weekend

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through the region during the evening hours. While most activity will be localized, there is a possibility of isolated severe storms capable of producing large hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph, particularly near the I-35 corridor.

Following the evening storms, conditions are expected to improve significantly. A period of mostly sunny skies and comfortable, less humid weather is forecast for Friday through the weekend. Daytime high temperatures are expected to reach the upper 70s to low 80s, with overnight lows in the mid-50s.

The stable weather pattern is projected to continue into next week, with only a slight chance of additional showers or thunderstorms appearing by Monday night or Tuesday night.
