Thuringian Volunteers Siegfried Ludwig and Bernard Sadovnik Honored for Civic Service

Retired Oberlehrer Siegfried Ludwig, aged 85, received the Ehrenamtszertifikat from the Thüringer Ehrenamtsstiftung for nearly five decades of voluntary work in model aviation and STEM education for children. The award was presented by Thuringian Minister for Education Christian Tischner at the Irchwitz primary school. Tischner praised Ludwig, saying he “has over decades inspired generations of young people with patience and passion, deserving the highest recognition.”

Bernard Sadovnik was likewise celebrated, receiving a civil‑courage prize from the Green/Voglauer group for his long‑term advocacy of minority‑group rights and fostering social cohesion in the region.
