Ticketmaster expands into Kenya and Uganda via Quicket

Ticketmaster is expanding its presence in East Africa by launching operations in Kenya and Uganda through Quicket, a pan-African ticketing platform it backs. This move is part of a long-term investment in the region’s growing live entertainment industry.

The Quicket platform will offer fully digital tickets to reduce fraud and accelerate event entry. To accommodate local markets, the service will support mobile payment methods including M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money, and Airtel Money. Future developments include WhatsApp-based ticketing and AI-powered discovery tools.

This expansion follows significant legal scrutiny for Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation Entertainment, in the United States. In April 2026, a federal jury found Live Nation and Ticketmaster liable on antitrust counts, including the monopolization of primary ticketing markets and illegal bundling of services.
