Ticketmaster expands into Kenya via Quicket
Ticketmaster is expanding into the Kenyan live entertainment market through its subsidiary, Quicket. The move aims to capitalize on Africa’s growing, mobile-first consumer base by providing a digital ticketing infrastructure designed to reduce fraud and streamline event entry.
The platform will integrate local mobile payment solutions, such as Safaricom’s M-Pesa and Airtel Money, to facilitate easier transactions for Kenyan consumers. To enhance event discovery, Quicket will connect local organizers to global distribution channels, including Spotify, Google, Meta, Apple Music, and Bandsintown.
Quicket is also developing advanced technological features, including AI-powered recommendation tools and WhatsApp-based ticketing to support conversational commerce. The company has already secured partnerships with local entities such as the music festival Beneath the Baobabs and the platform EatOut.
