Ed Sheeran concerts at Gillette Stadium canceled due to severe weather
Ed Sheeran’s scheduled concerts at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts have been canceled due to a powerful nor’easter storm. The severe weather, expected to bring heavy rain, high winds, and coastal flooding to New England, prompted the decision by tour promoters and local officials to prioritize the safety of fans and staff. Ticketmaster holders will receive automatic refunds.
The cancellations occur amid significant political controversy surrounding Sheeran’s Loop Tour. Earlier this month, rapper Macklemore was removed from the tour lineup after making pro-Palestine remarks on stage. Reports indicate that Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft, along with other venue owners, allegedly pressured the tour to drop Macklemore. This led to several other opening acts withdrawing in solidarity with the rapper.
Separately, the nor’easter is causing widespread disruption across the U.S. Northeast. Governors in New York and New Jersey have declared states of emergency as the storm brings flooding, power outages, and dangerous coastal conditions to millions of residents.
