Tierra del Fuego commission investigates LeoLabs radar installation

A special investigative commission of the Tierra del Fuego Legislature is advancing its inquiry into the authorizations granted to LeoLabs Inc. and LeoLabs Argentina SRL for the installation of a radar and ground station in Tolhuin.

Commission President Pablo Villegas announced that the investigation has entered a new phase involving testimonial statements from several key figures. Scheduled to testify include Tolhuin Mayor Daniel Harrington, former Senator Pablo Blanco, former National Defense Minister Jorge Taiana, and the Chief of the Joint Staff.

The commission aims to determine whether there is political or technical responsibility regarding the administrative and judicial procedures connected to the radar's installation. While some judicial and provincial agencies have cooperated, Villegas noted delays and a lack of documentation from the Provincial Energy Directorate (DPE).
