Tierra del Fuego industrial activity analyzed by CAAE

The Special Customs Area Commission (CAAE) held its 648th meeting to discuss the development and sustainability of industrial activity in Tierra del Fuego. The session, presided over by Alejandra Man, included representatives from various sectors such as the General Directorate of Customs, UOMRA, and the Ministry of Economy.

A primary focus was the production of air conditioning units. The Commission evaluated Resolution No. 351/2026, which approved the sequence of operations for this manufacturing process. While local production is expanding—with Athuel Electrónica and Radio Victoria Argentina planning new product launches—the UOMRA expressed formal rejection of the new production process and indicated it would take measures to defend its rights.

Additionally, the Commission authorized a subcontracting arrangement for New San S. A. through the Renacer Work Cooperative. This scheme involves the manual insertion of components and assembly of electrical boxes for 80,000 air conditioning units between October and December.
