Tierra del Fuego launches paid internships for students with disabilities

The Ministry of Education of Tierra del Fuego has launched a paid internship program for students with disabilities. The initiative targets students from the Integral Education Schools (EDEI) ‘Fuegos de Cambios’ in Ushuaia and ‘Sin Fronteras’ in Río Grande, as well as youth attending Alternative Activity Centers for People with Disabilities (CAAD) in both cities.

Participants will engage in two-month internships focused on practical training and social inclusion. Initially, students will perform support tasks related to milk service in various kindergartens, eventually moving to other educational institutions. The program is being implemented through a collaboration between the Provincial Directorate of Inclusive Education and the Provincial Directorates of Maintenance and Services, operating under the Ministry’s Cleaning and Establishment Services Program.

Each student will be guided by a responsible supervisor to ensure optimal development and integration into real work environments. The program aims to foster autonomy, socialization, and professional experience, helping to break down barriers and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce.
