Tierra del Fuego educational and inclusion initiatives

Overview

The Ministry of Education in Tierra del Fuego has introduced several initiatives to support educational and professional development. In September 2026, the government opened registration for the “Yo sí puedo” Provincial Literacy Program, a free public initiative for adults over 18 seeking to learn reading and writing. The program, which has seen increasing annual graduation numbers since 2023, utilizes a flexible methodology in small groups to foster autonomy.

Following this, in October 2026, the Ministry launched a paid internship program specifically for students with disabilities. This initiative targets students from Integral Education Schools and Alternative Activity Centers in Ushuaia and Río Grande. The two-month internships focus on practical training and social inclusion, beginning with support tasks in kindergartens to help participants gain professional experience and integrate into real work environments.
