Regional health ministries launch community medical outreach programs

Various regional health ministries in Argentina and Uruguay are implementing community-focused medical initiatives.

In Tierra del Fuego, the Ministry of Health has launched the ‘Sonrisas de Invierno’ campaign in Ushuaia, providing topical fluoride applications for children aged 3 to 12. Additionally, Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS) in Ushuaia, Río Grande, and Tolhuin have released weekend service schedules covering general medicine, nursing, vaccination, and sexual health counseling.

In Formosa, a three-day comprehensive health operation concluded in western communities, providing nearly 1,000 dental consultations, hundreds of ophthalmological and general medicine appointments, vaccinations, and the distribution of free medications and eyeglasses. Similarly, in the Jiménez department, health teams conducted territorial outreach to remote areas to administer dengue vaccinations and perform basic health screenings.

In Santa Cruz, the government implemented integrated health days in Río Gallegos, focusing on child wellness checks, vaccinations, and medical certifications. Meanwhile, in Salto, Uruguay, the Primary Care Network has scheduled rural health tours to provide pediatric, family, and gynecological services to various local communities.
