Tierra del Fuego reorganizes emergency service lines

The provincial government has reorganized emergency response channels to improve efficiency. Under the new system, the 107 line will be dedicated exclusively to health emergencies and medical assistance, managed directly by the General Directorate of Emergency Care.

The 911 line will remain the primary channel for general security matters and all other non-medical emergencies. This decision was finalized during a meeting in Río Grande involving the Chief of Cabinet, Jorge Canals, Provincial Police Chief Jacinto Rolón, and other key officials from civil protection and emergency services.

Officials stated that the separation aims to provide faster and more effective responses by ensuring medical calls are routed immediately to health specialists, while maintaining coordinated efforts between security and health agencies.
