TİGEM elite foal auction reaches record 51.6 million TL

The General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) held its first elite foal auction of the year at the Veliefendi Racecourse in Istanbul. Out of 15 elite Arabian foals raised at the Sultansuyu Agricultural Enterprise, 13 were sold for a total of 51.6 million TL.

The auction set a new record for the highest average sale price for elite foals, reaching approximately 3.969 million TL per horse. The highest individual sale was recorded for a foal named ‘Ağa Fahri’, which sold for 8.75 million TL. The sales for the remaining two foals have been postponed.

TİGEM Deputy General Manager İsmail Bülbül noted that the organization produces between 450 and 500 foals annually, with the most elite specimens selected for these specialized auctions. The next auction is scheduled for October 6 at the same venue, featuring foals from the Karacabey Agricultural Enterprise.
