Turkey's FKB sectors and TİGEM report significant growth
The Financial Institutions Association (FKB) reported significant growth across its five member sectors for the second quarter of 2026. Total active size reached 2.183 trillion lira, a 68% increase compared to the same period last year. Total receivables rose by 71% to 1.582 trillion lira, while equity grew by 76% to 449 billion lira. The savings finance sector showed the most rapid expansion, with its active size increasing by 188% to 501 billion lira and its customer base more than doubling to 1.549 million.
Separately, the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) announced ambitious financial targets. TİGEM expects its 2026 year-end profit to reach 1.6 billion lira, a 78% increase from the previous year. The organization has set further growth targets of 1.8 billion lira for 2027 and 2 billion lira for 2028. TİGEM General Manager Dr. Hasan Gezginç noted that while favorable weather improved yields in many regions, extreme rain and wind negatively impacted production in Karacabey and Dalaman.
