Baja California: Cybersecurity investment and regional economic updates
Various regional developments are occurring across Baja California and surrounding areas. In Tijuana, UNIAT and 3DMX announced a 6 million peso investment to establish a Cybersecurity and AI Hub, aimed at creating a digital talent ecosystem to serve the North American market.
In Ensenada, local government reports indicate that 367 businesses were regularized between 2025 and early 2026, representing a 75.8 million peso investment. Additionally, the city anticipates high hotel occupancy rates of up to 98% during the Fiestas de la Vendimia celebrations.
Other regional updates include the inauguration of new municipal offices in the Primo Tapia delegation of Rosarito, protests by residents in Playas de Rosarito regarding street market blockages, and the launch of 6x6 soccer tournaments in Tijuana. Public safety officials in Ensenada have also issued warnings against unauthorized intermediaries at the Civic Court.
