Tijuana emergency services respond to gas leak and multiple incidents

The Tijuana Fire Department responded to a variety of emergencies over a 24-hour period between August 14 and 15, 2026, including a gas leak that required a preventive evacuation.

In the Zona Centro area, a two-inch gas pipe leak was detected during local works, prompting the evacuation of approximately 30 people. Firefighters used a clamp to control the leak before completely closing the pipe. No injuries were reported in this incident.

Other significant calls during this period included an explosion at a residence in the Los Pirulos neighborhood caused by a 10-kilogram gas tank leak, and a vehicle rollover on the road to Playas. In the latter incident, a man was found deceased in a ravine. Additionally, emergency responders provided medical aid to a 60-year-old man following a pedestrian accident in Zona Centro.
