TikTok Shop global spending hits $50.3 billion in H1 2026
TikTok Shop has seen significant growth in high-ticket item sales and global revenue. According to data from Spreetail, sales of above-ground pools and spas grew 125% year-over-year, while outdoor furniture sales rose 275% and lawn-and-garden products increased by nearly 150%. This shift indicates that consumers are moving toward high-consideration purchases priced between $85 and $2,000, moving beyond the platform's traditional focus on low-cost fashion and beauty items.
Globally, customers spent $50.3 billion on TikTok Shop in the first half of 2026, representing a 92% increase compared to the same period the previous year. The United States remains a major market, with $11.8 billion in spending, roughly doubling its total from the prior year. Analysts from Tabcut and Momentum Works estimate that the platform's global gross merchandise value (GMV) could surpass $100 billion this year and reach $123.5 billion by the end of 2026.
Despite this financial growth, some challenges persist. A Harris Poll indicated that 63% of Gen Z users reported stopping purchases from the platform, potentially due to dissatisfaction with the marketplace. Additionally, the platform has faced scrutiny regarding the presence of low-quality products and a growing gray market for certain medications.
