TikTok star Ayesha Gilamana killed in Taxila shooting

TikTok creator Ayesha Gilamana, also known as Shamsoo Bibi, was killed in a shooting near Taxila, Pakistan, on August 14. According to a police complaint filed by her father, Fazal Sahibzada, the incident occurred after Gilamana was called by a man known as Kashif, who instructed her to leave her home immediately.

As Gilamana traveled in a car with her 15-year-old sister, Aseema, and her brother, Naimatullah, two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire. A bullet struck Gilamana in the neck, killing her at the scene. The gunfire caused the vehicle to lose control and crash into another car, leaving her sister seriously injured.

Gilamana had amassed approximately 1.3 million followers and between 30 million and 35 million likes on TikTok over several years. Her family has since deactivated her account. The victim's father has alleged a financial motive, naming individuals Kausar and Javed (alias Shaheen) in the complaint. He stated that Gilamana had previous financial dealings with them and had received death threats regarding money repayments, even filing a prior complaint against them in Islamabad.
