TIM rolls out Priority internet service in Italy

TIM has introduced a new "Priority" connectivity model aimed at delivering higher‑quality internet for customers with demanding applications such as AI, high‑definition streaming, cloud gaming and remote work. The first offering, "WiFi Priority," provides traffic‑priority on fixed‑line FTTC or FTTH lines that run on the FiberCop network. Launched on 16 July 2026 and officially announced on 22 July 2026, the service is free for new fixed‑line customers who activate a line before the promotion ends in August 2026; activation and monthly fees are waived. Activation can be completed online, in stores or by phone within 48 hours, and the service is compatible with any TIM fixed‑line offer on FiberCop.

Beyond fixed broadband, TIM plans to extend the Priority concept to mobile with a "5G Priority" rollout slated for October 2026. CEO Pietro Labriola described the move as a paradigm shift: the network will recognise "Priority" customers and allocate dedicated resources, moving away from the traditional best‑effort approach. The initiative groups three pillars – connectivity, care and protection – and is positioned as the first step toward a new generation of tailored telecom services.
