TIM launches Priority internet service in Italy

In late July 2026 TIM announced the roll‑out of a new “Priority” connectivity offering for its Italian fiber customers. The initial phase, branded Wi‑Fi Priority, provides a dedicated traffic lane on FTTC/FTTH lines of the FiberCop network and promises faster response times and enhanced digital protection for high‑bandwidth applications such as AI, 4K streaming, cloud gaming and remote work. The service was first presented on 21 July, with a plan to extend the model to 5G mobile networks in October.

A follow‑up update on 27 July detailed the commercial launch: the Wi‑Fi Priority tier is free for new fixed‑line customers who activate a line before the August deadline, with activation possible online, in store or by phone within 48 hours. TIM framed the initiative as a shift from a best‑effort model to guaranteed quality, grouping the offering under three pillars – connectivity, care and protection – and positioning it as the first step toward more personalized telecom services.
