Timiș County announces new school and multipurpose arena projects

Infrastructure development is advancing in Timiș County, Romania, with new projects announced for both educational and sports facilities.

The Dumbrăvița Town Hall has launched a tender for the construction of a new primary and middle school. The project, valued at approximately 36.1 million lei, will be funded through the West Regional Program and the local municipal budget. The planned facility will include 18 classrooms, specialized laboratories for biology, physics, and chemistry, computer labs, a gym, a library, and various recreational spaces designed to address local overcrowding and modernize rural education infrastructure.

Separately, Alfred Simonis, President of the Timiș County Council, has renewed focus on the development of a new multipurpose arena in Timișoara. While the project is in its early stages and requires updated documentation for the National Company of Investments (CNI), Simonis suggested that construction could realistically begin by 2029. He proposed a partnership between the Timiș County Council and the Timișoara City Hall to secure necessary co-financing once work on the Dan Păltinișanu stadium commences.
