Timiș emergency services respond to 190 missions and forest fires

Emergency services in Timiș County, Romania, have faced an intense period of activity due to widespread fires and medical emergencies. Between October 3 and 4, 2026, ISU Timiș responders were mobilized for 190 missions. The majority of these were medical interventions, with SMURD crews providing first aid in 154 cases.

Firefighters responded to 15 fires, 13 of which involved dry vegetation and resulted in the destruction of approximately 108 hectares of land. Additionally, crews handled six road accidents and several other emergency situations.

In response to a major forest fire in the Domogled–Valea Cernei National Park, 13 firefighters from Timiș were deployed to assist other counties. The intervention in the Domogled area is described as particularly difficult due to the complex and challenging terrain.
