Romania advances major infrastructure and urban development projects

Romania is advancing several major infrastructure and urban development projects across various regions.

In Timiș County, the construction of the Timișoara West Bypass has reached 15% progress five months after commencement. The project, valued at approximately 1.4 billion lei, aims to complete the city's ring road. Additionally, the Margina–Holdea motorway section is 72% complete, and work is progressing on the Timișoara–Moravița motorway connecting Romania to Serbia. Meanwhile, consolidation works are beginning on the Caransebeș Bypass, a project expected to last 18 months.

In Brașov, a financing contract has been signed for the new Tineretului Stadium, which will have a capacity of 9,716 seats at an estimated cost of 164.43 million lei. Furthermore, a 17 million lei project is underway to modernize and digitalize over 200 metropolitan passenger stations using European funds.

In Constanța, the construction of the new ‘Gheorghe Hagi’ stadium, estimated at 100 million euros, remains stalled due to administrative and technical procedures following the demolition of the old arena in 2023.
