Timisoara Police Roll Out Anti‑bullying Campaign and Issue Fines in City Parks
During the summer vacation, the Timiș County Police continued a prevention campaign against bullying and cyberbullying, conducting 15 activities that reached more than 550 students in summer camps, social‑assistance centres and schools. The initiative, titled “When the witness speaks, bullying stops! Report! Your voice is the solution,” educated children about the forms and effects of bullying and urged bystanders to report aggression. Over 100 teachers and a similar number of parents also received guidance on identifying and handling bullying cases.
In parallel, the Timisoara Local Police intensified patrols in the city’s parks over the past three months, issuing 352 citations worth 132,510 lei for violations such as unattended dogs, smoking near playgrounds, loud disturbances and illegal parking. Examples include a 500‑lei fine for an un‑leashed large dog in Regina Maria Park and a 400‑lei fine for a noisy disturbance in Dacia Park. The police urged citizens to report infractions to the local dispatch.
