Timo Schulz wins inaugural Sanremo Rally Electric

German driver Timo Schulz and co-driver Maresa Lade won the inaugural Sanremo Rally Electric, the first Italian rally dedicated exclusively to electric vehicles. The event served as the fifth round of the Adac Opel GSE Rally Cup.

Driving a Opel GSE Mokka, Schulz took the lead during the Molini-Buggio special stage and maintained a 23.4-second advantage over the second-place crew, Tom Dufour and Alex Dubois. The Spanish duo Alex Espanol Jovè and Enrique Velasco Alonso finished third, while the British team of Ioann Llloyd and Sion Williams narrowly missed the podium.

This victory marks Schulz’s fourth win in five races this season, returning him to the top of the series standings. Italian competitors Valentino Ledda and Matteo Zoncu finished in fifth place.
