Tinos community initiative raises 60,000 euros for medical equipment

The T2T – From Tinos to Tinos initiative, a pop-up canteen operating in Kardiani, successfully raised 60,000 euros to support medical infrastructure on the island of Tinos. The funds are intended for the purchase of a modern medical ultrasound machine for the Tinos Health Center and to secure emergency air medical transport insurance.

The initiative involved over 35 volunteers from four countries, alongside local producers, chefs, and businesses. However, the 2nd Health Region of Piraeus and Aegean has issued a clarification regarding the project. The regional health authority stated that the T2T initiative was not organized, co-organized, or held under its auspices, nor was it sanctioned by the Tinos Health Center.

The health authority noted that it has not yet received or managed any funds or equipment from this initiative and cannot certify the amount raised or its intended distribution. Furthermore, the region clarified that a central tender for the procurement of 26 general-use ultrasound machines is already underway through the Recovery and Resilience Fund, which will distribute equipment to units based on documented needs.
