Tinos electric scooter accident leaves 14-year-old injured

A 14-year-old girl is recovering after a serious electric scooter accident on the island of Tinos. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the minor, riding as a passenger behind a 15-year-old, lost balance and fell, resulting in severe head injuries.

Following emergency treatment and intubation at the Tinos Health Center, the girl was transferred to the Aglaia Kyriakou Children's Hospital in Athens. Recent medical updates indicate she has been extubated and is expected to leave the Intensive Care Unit following a CT scan that showed no new findings.

In response to recent accidents involving minors on electric scooters in Tinos and Glyka Nera, the Athens Traffic Police have intensified inspections. Authorities are focusing on minors violating traffic codes and businesses that rent or provide scooters to individuals under the age of 17, despite existing legislation prohibiting such use.
