Tamaulipas culinary traditions showcased at Feria Tamaulipas 2026
The Feria Tamaulipas 2026 featured gastronomic showcases from the northern, central, and southern regions of the state. Held from October 19 to 21 in Ciudad Victoria, the event highlighted the culinary heritage and identity of various municipalities.
In the northern region, specialties included Matamoros-style tacos, cabrito, and Nuevo Laredo carne asada, alongside artisanal products like Mier powder bread and Guerrero dried meat. The central region presented dishes such as Jaumave gorditas, Abasolo barbacoa, and wedding asado from Güémez. The southern region offered Tampico-style torta de la barda, seafood from Altamira and Aldama, and various tamales and enchiladas.
Mariana Álvarez Quero, the Undersecretary of Small and Medium Enterprises, noted that these activities aim to recognize those preserving traditional recipes and promote the state's gastronomic wealth as part of initiatives led by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya.
