Tlajomulco municipal development and public works

Overview

The municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga has undertaken various public works, cultural, and health initiatives. Early developments included receiving architectural recognitions from DINARQ for the San Sebastián el Grande Municipal Market and honoring local architects, alongside the launch of the “Tu salud siempre primero” health campaign focused on breast cancer prevention.

Subsequent efforts have focused on infrastructure and cultural investments. These include the unveiling of a monumental molcajete in San Lucas Evangelista to honor local artisans, the inauguration of the ‘El Tecolote’ pocket park, and a 50 million peso investment for a new Cultural Center and Artisan Market in San Miguel Cuyutlán.

Recent activities include the third iteration of the “Tu salud siempre primero” campaign, which provides free medical services such as mammograms and vaccinations. Furthermore, the municipal government has expanded its focus toward governance, hosting open government forums to develop a Municipal Open Government Action Plan following an alliance with the Open Government Partnership (OGP) signed by Mayor Gerardo Quirino Velázquez Chávez.
