Tlalnepantla Mayor Implements LED Street Lighting Upgrade and Water Debt Relief Program

Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz of Tlalnepantla, Mexico, inaugurated the "Luminaria Nuestra Ciudad" project, installing and upgrading LED streetlights along 3.1 kilometres of key thoroughfares. The effort added 42 upgraded lights, 15 new 100‑watt posts, and 59 pedestrian luminaires on Avenida Emilio Cárdenas, plus further upgrades on Calle López Rayón and Calle 12, totaling 164 new or refurbished fixtures to improve safety and mobility.

In a separate municipal session, the town council approved a subsidy covering up to 50 % of water and drainage debt for low‑income households and other vulnerable users. The program also allows partial payments and the regularisation of outstanding tax credits for water services from fiscal year 2025 and earlier, aiming to ease the financial burden on residents and encourage bill compliance.
