Tlaxcala State Congress Rejects Accounts of Five Municipalities

The Congress of the State of Tlaxcala reviewed the public accounts of 30 municipalities for the 2025 fiscal year. In the first session of the LXV Legislature, deputies voted to approve the accounts of 25 municipalities and to reject those of five: Atlangatepec, Atltzayanca, Españita, Huamantla and Lázaro Cárdenas. The rejected municipalities received low compliance scores, ranging from 49.5 to 63.5, and the audit reported probable patrimonial damages of several million pesos for each. The approvals and rejections were made in accordance with the State Fiscal Oversight and Accountability Law, based on reports from the Finance and Oversight Commission chaired by deputy Bladimir Zainos Flores.

The decision marks the start of the congressional review process for the 2025 municipal accounts, setting the fiscal oversight framework for the next year.
