Sinaloa Cartel's 'Los Rugrats' cell targeted in federal operations

A series of federal operations in Sinaloa has led to the arrest of seven individuals linked to 'Los Rugrats', a criminal cell belonging to the 'Los Mayos' faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. The operations, which included five search warrants in the Laguna Colorada area of Culiacán, resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, narcotics, vehicles, and communication equipment.

Among those detained are four direct relatives of Carlos Alberto Páez Pereda, known as 'Carlitos Rugrats', who is identified as a high-priority target by both Mexican and United States authorities. Specifically, authorities identified two of the detainees, Aglaee Ramírez Páez and Leslie Dennise Pereda García, as alleged logistical operators for the organization. Other relatives detained include his aunt and uncle, Claudia Selene García Ontiveros and Francisco Javier Ramírez Agüero.

In a separate but related development, José Luis N, alias 'Wicho', was arrested in Mazatlán. He has been identified as the financial and logistical operator for the 'Los Rugrats' organization and is wanted by the U.S. District of Central California for cocaine possession with intent to distribute.
