TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu urges producer support, promotes Filyos Port
Turkey’s chambers union (TOBB) president Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu addressed several domestic events, stressing the need to back Turkish producers and highlighting logistics opportunities. At an award ceremony in Karabük he urged the country to use maritime transport, calling the newly built Filyos Port a strategic hub that could lower export costs and give regional industry a competitive edge.
Speaking at the 100th‑anniversary celebration of the Bolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he praised members for maintaining production despite global trade tensions and economic strain. He announced that TOBB had guaranteed credit for around 600,000 member firms through the Kredi Garanti Fonu, offering to stand as a guarantor for bank loans and urging the removal of credit restrictions for small and medium‑sized enterprises. He also noted that 73 chambers and exchanges received TOBB accreditation this year, reinforcing standards and corporate development.
Hisarcıklıoğlu repeatedly emphasized that every business that continues to produce, sell and import under today’s challenging conditions “deserves a medal,” and called on policymakers to address financing difficulties promptly.
