TOBB push for Turkish agricultural trade

In early July, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu highlighted Sakarya’s agricultural strength while inaugurating the new Sakarya Trade Exchange building, presenting it as a five‑star model for chambers across Islamic countries and underscoring the region’s leading output of hazelnuts, corn, quince and other crops.

Later in the month, his focus broadened to national producer support. Speaking at events in Karabük and Bolu, he urged greater use of maritime logistics, promoted the newly built Filyos Port as a cost‑cutting export hub, and announced credit guarantees for roughly 600,000 TOBB member firms. He also noted the accreditation of 73 chambers and exchanges, reinforcing standards and corporate development across Turkey.

Together, the statements trace a progression from showcasing a single region’s agricultural success to a wider drive to bolster Turkish producers, improve trade infrastructure and expand financial backing for SMEs.
