Tobias Forge revives death metal band Repugnant
Tobias Forge, the frontman of the band Ghost, has revived his former death metal project, Repugnant. The revival includes a new version of the song ‘Premature Burial’, originally released in 2004.
While Forge provided the vocals for the original track, the new version features Erik Danielsson of the black metal band Watain on vocals. A music video for the track has been produced for the latest installment of the horror film series, ‘V/H/S Mixtape’. The recording also includes former Repugnant members Gustaf Lindström on bass, Thomas Daun on drums, and Gottfrid Åhman on guitar.
Forge founded Repugnant in 1998, and the group disbanded in 2004, later releasing the album ‘Epitome of Darkness’ in 2006. Forge has previously noted that his lack of maturity at the time prevented the band from achieving greater success. This musical activity comes during a hiatus for Ghost, amid rumors that Forge is working on new death metal material.
