Todd Blanche's former colleague decries his transformation ahead of AG confirmation
Former federal prosecutor Mimi Rocah said she is "very surprised" and "disgusted" by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s conduct under the Trump administration. Rocah, who worked with Blanche when he was a paralegal at the Southern District of New York, recalled him as a hard‑working team player who attended law school at night. She said his recent actions, including meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell in prison, defending her, and negotiating immunity for Donald Trump’s IRS issues, contrast sharply with that earlier reputation.
Rocah voiced her concerns ahead of Blanche’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing scheduled for July 15, where he seeks confirmation as U.S. attorney general. She warned that his current behavior – such as allegedly facilitating dismissals of prosecutions and appearing to support former career prosecutors who left office – marks a “major transformation” from the colleague she once knew.
