Togg tops 2026 Turkish EV sales as Volkswagen prepares ID. Tiguan electric SUV
In the Turkish market, domestic manufacturer Togg led 2026 electric‑vehicle sales with its T10X SUV followed by the T10F sedan, while models from BYD, MINI, Volvo and others also performed strongly. The surge in EV purchases reflects expanding charging infrastructure, longer‑range batteries and growing consumer preference for SUVs.
Volkswagen announced that its upcoming ID. Tiguan will replace the ID.4 as the brand’s flagship electric SUV. Leaked images show a more angular front end and design cues taken from the conventional Tiguan. The model will be built on the MEB+ platform at Volkswagen’s Emden plant and is slated for launch by the end of 2026, promising improved range and faster charging compared with the current ID.4.
