Togo digitizes Ministry of Foreign Affairs and consular services
Togo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, African Integration and Togolese of l’Exterior (MAECIATE) has officially launched its first fully digitalized public services. The initiative was inaugurated on October 1 by Foreign Minister Robert Dussey and Minister for Public Service Efficiency and Digital Transformation Cina Lawson.
The digital platform allows users to complete ten administrative procedures related to the ministry’s central directorates and supervised entities. These include applications for diplomatic cards, diplomatic license plates, airport access permits, and courtesy visa attestations. Other available services involve the legalization of documents for international use, investment project support for the diaspora, and the sale of vehicles with diplomatic plates.
Additionally, six consular services have been moved online to facilitate remote access. These services include document legalization and certification, consular card applications, the issuance of birth and marriage certificates, laissez-passer requests, and authorizations for the transfer of remains.
