Toho unveils trailer for ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ sequel

Toho and Gkids have released a new trailer for ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’, the sequel to the Academy Award-winning ‘Godzilla Minus One’. Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the film is set in 1949, two years after the events of the previous movie, as post-war Japan faces a new calamity.

The trailer confirms the return of King Ghidorah, the iconic three-headed dragon, marking the creature's return to a mainline Toho film after more than two decades. The footage also introduces new characters, including Masami Nagasawa as weather forecaster Makoto Aoyama, and features returning elements from the previous film.

‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ will make its world premiere as a Spotlight Gala selection at the 64th New York Film Festival on September 26. It is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on November 3, followed by a North American theatrical rollout on November 6.
