Tokachigawa Onsen hosts Amber Night and Marche event
The Amber Night and Marche event has commenced at the Garden Spa Tokachigawa Onsen roadside station in Otofuke, Hokkaido. Organized by the Tokachigawa Onsen Ryokan Cooperative, the long-running event aims to boost tourism during the autumn and winter off-season. The initiative has received support through a project selected by the Japan Tourism Agency.
Key features of the event include a four-meter-tall illuminated symbol tree made of pine and various amber-colored crystal objects to create a seasonal atmosphere. Visitors can participate in workshops and purchase handcrafted goods from local creators.
For a fee, evening attendees can enjoy musical performances and local beverages, including sake and wine brewed in the Tokachi region. A new app, “Osake Meister,” has also been introduced, allowing guests to scan a QR code and answer simple questions to receive personalized drink recommendations.
