Tokat livestock producer finds 11 animals killed by suspected wild animals

In the Niksar district of Tokat, a local livestock producer discovered a large number of animals killed by suspected wild animals at the Akpınar Plateau. Şanveren Onayrılı, who has been farming in the area for 45 years, reported finding 10 water buffalo and one donkey dismembered near a stream.

In addition to the carcasses found, three cattle are currently missing. Onayrılı noted that many of the animals were pregnant. While he reported seeing a bear and two wolves near the remains, he could not confirm if they were the direct cause of the attack.

Local authorities, including the Gendarmerie, Nature Conservation and National Parks, and the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, have responded to the scene. Camera traps have been installed in the area to identify the specific species responsible for the attack.
