Tokyo dining establishments The TEA ROOMS and Hobson's announce closures
Several notable dining establishments in Tokyo are scheduled to close. The TEA ROOMS, located on the first basement floor of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, will cease operations on September 30, 2026. The shop has been popular for its afternoon tea sets, homemade scones with fermented butter, and various sweets.
Additionally, the only remaining parlor for the premium ice cream brand Hobson's will close on September 23, 2026. Located in the Ariake Garden shopping complex, the shop was a pioneer of the blended ice cream trend in Japan. Its closure marks the end of the brand's physical presence in the country, as it previously operated dozens of locations before scaling down to just this single outlet.
