Tokyo Family FUN FUN School Summer Event
On August 2, 2026, the FUN FUN School will hold a free, one‑day workshop at the Shinagawa-ku Kyu‑ri‑an Small Hall in Tokyo. The event invites parents and children of all ages to create musical instruments from everyday waste such as plastic bottles, cans, paper cups and ribbon rolls, and then perform together with renowned junk‑instrument specialist Yamaguchi Tomo.
Special guests include composer Kazunori Maruyama, who will improvise alongside the participants, and the FUN FUN Music Ensemble featuring pianist Koheramaru (Hiroshi Ōno) and vocalist Miki Kakizawa. The program also offers a bingo raffle, giveaways and a brief lesson on the physics of sound, aiming to foster creativity, teamwork and environmental awareness among children.
The organizers – the FUN FUN School Committee with support from the Shinagawa Ward, local NPOs and business sponsors – hope the hands‑on experience will inspire interest in sustainable design and music education during the summer holidays.
