Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions and Getworks partner on containerized data centers
Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions (TGES) and Getworks have entered into a business alliance to accelerate the development of containerized data centers. The partnership aims to utilize idle assets, such as former factory sites, vacant land, and existing power and water infrastructure, to establish data center solutions that can be deployed quickly and expanded flexibly based on demand.
The collaboration will leverage TGES’s expertise in energy infrastructure and distributed power sources alongside Getworks’s specialized knowledge in containerized data center solutions. Key technical initiatives include exploring power-hybrid data center solutions and developing high-efficiency cooling water supply systems that utilize waste heat from gas cogeneration systems.
This initiative seeks to address the growing demand for AI-related computing resources and the challenges of securing power and infrastructure for traditional data centers. By repurposing industrial assets, the companies aim to create new revenue opportunities for clients and contribute to regional economic revitalization and the expansion of Japan’s AI infrastructure.
