Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions data center development
Overview
Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions (TGES) has initiated efforts to expand Japan’s AI infrastructure through the development of containerized data centers. In an alliance with Getworks, TGES aims to repurpose idle industrial assets, such as vacant land and former factory sites, to create flexible data center solutions that utilize existing power and water infrastructure.
This initiative has expanded to include a Memorandum of Understanding with Wartsila to evaluate power supply solutions. The collaboration focuses on developing gas- or dual-fuel motor-based power plant concepts to provide energy for TGES’s upcoming data center projects, specifically targeting the high-load requirements of AI-driven data processing.
