Tokyo hosts multiple Christmas events in Shinjuku and Yaesu

Tokyo is preparing for several large-scale Christmas celebrations in late 2026. In Shinjuku, the ‘THE HOLIDAY SCENE CHRISTMAS MARKET’ will be held at the Lumine 1 rooftop El Terrace from December 1 to December 25. The event features a movie-inspired theme with a ‘Tree Forest,’ various photo spots, and seasonal food and drink offerings, including hot wine, German beer, and specialty pasta.

Meanwhile, Tokyo Midtown Yaesu will host ‘MIDTOWN YAESU CHRISTMAS 2026’ from November 19 to December 25. The illumination theme, ‘MIRAGE VOYAGE,’ draws inspiration from Yaesu’s history of water transport. The display includes a 7-meter-tall Christmas tree and a 40-meter light path designed to resemble historical shipping routes. The event will incorporate traditional Japanese ‘Shippo’ patterns and feature crafts from Kumamoto Prefecture as part of disaster relief support. Additionally, Tokujin Yoshioka’s sculpture ‘STAR’ will receive a limited light-up at the main entrance.
