Tokyo man arrested for voyeurism in women's restroom

Koyo Murakami, a 24-year-old office worker from Shibuya, Tokyo, has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department on suspicion of violating laws regarding the unauthorized filming of individuals in women's restrooms.

In July, Murakami allegedly attempted to use a smartphone to film a woman in her 30s inside a restroom stall at a building in Shinagawa Ward. Upon his arrest, Murakami reportedly stated that he had deleted all images because he believed he would eventually be caught.

During interrogation, Murakami admitted to the allegations, stating that while he had previously participated in online counseling sessions to address his voyeuristic tendencies, he was unable to control his impulses. He also reportedly mentioned an attempt to film students at a cram school located on the same floor as his workplace.
