Tolentino: Man arrested with taser after threatening mother and police with knife

A 34-year-old man, identified as Rodriguez Da Silva, was arrested in Tolentino after threatening his mother and Carabinieri officers with a kitchen knife. The incident occurred on the morning of Ferragosto.

Da Silva, a Brazilian national with an expired visa, was serving house arrest at his mother's residence following a previous conviction for resisting public officials. According to reports, the man was in a state of intense psychological agitation and brandished a knife with a blade between 35 and 40 centimeters long. After failing to calm him down, officers used a taser to subdue him.

The man was taken to a hospital in Macerata, where he remains under police guard pending the validation of his arrest. His mother was unharmed during the confrontation.
