Tolhuin power line upgrade completed by provincial energy authority

The Dirección Provincial de Energía (DPE) finished scheduled works on the Alimentador N.º 1 serving Tolhuin. The upgrade replaced four aging lenga wooden poles with new eucalyptus poles and renewed wooden crossarms and other components of the 13.200‑volt medium‑voltage line.

The work addressed a section of the network that had become very old and had suffered damage from strong winds. Initial emergency repairs restored service, after which a planned outage allowed the full replacement. Access to the site required preparation of an entry route for personnel, vehicles and machinery. The DPE received assistance from the Dirección Provincial de Vialidad and the Municipalidad de Tolhuin, which provided equipment to facilitate the operation. The project is part of ongoing maintenance aimed at progressively replacing outdated infrastructure and improving the reliability of electric service in Tolhuin.
