Toluca accelerates commercial licensing to reach 2,000 permits

The municipality of Toluca is accelerating the issuance of commercial licenses to regularize economic units. Municipal Director of Economic Development, Ana Yolanda Esquivel, reported that the administration expects to close the year with 2,000 permits issued. This represents a significant increase compared to the 627 licenses issued throughout 2024.

Approximately 40% of these licenses are for businesses that were already operating but lacked formal documentation. The initiative has focused heavily on the service sector, where 50% of establishments were previously irregular. Officials noted that the process has seen a 200% increase in efficiency, helping to overcome previous obstacles related to land-use regulations in specific zones.
