Toluca municipal administration development programs

The municipal government of Toluca, led by Mayor Ricardo Moreno Bastida, continues to execute infrastructure, social, and economic development programs.

In terms of urban infrastructure, the administration has completed the installation of 1,000 new LED luminaires to improve security and mobility, with a long-term goal of exceeding 70,000 units. The city has repaired 72,000 potholes and is transitioning road maintenance from an emergency response to a permanent strategy utilizing 48 specialized brigades. These works are monitored through the ‘Portal Toluca’ digital system.

On the economic front, the Municipal School of Entrepreneurship (EMET) has selected 486 participants for its second training generation. The municipality is also accelerating the issuance of commercial licenses to regularize economic units; Municipal Director of Economic Development, Ana Yolanda Esquivel, previously reported an expectation to issue 2,000 permits by the end of the year.

Furthering economic support, the ninth edition of the Festival Abarrotero was held at the Mercado Juárez in Toluca. Organized by the State of Mexico's Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO), the event provided approximately 2,000 small business owners with training in digital payments, administration, and web sales to facilitate technological transition and formalization.
